Yes on Proposition 421

  Proposition 421 is focused on essential school maintenance, including fixing aging air conditioning systems, repairing restrooms, and replacing fire panels to improve safety. Our schools need this funding to meet the safety and educational needs of our students.

 In an effort to support affordability for families and seniors in our community, Proposition 421 was reduced to $71 million to focus only on priority needs. This fiscally responsible approach supports the taxpayers while keeping costs as low as possible.  

 Surprise has grown by nearly 35% over the past 10 years and is one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. Proposition 421 would support the construction of a new elementary school and purchase land for a new high school in the rapidly growing area in the northwest portion of the district. 

 Strong schools build strong communities. Proposition 421 is supported by a coalition of community members who recognize that our excellent local schools are a critical component of our quality of life. Excellent schools help protect your property values and reduce crime. Dysart is a key reason we enjoy such a safe, family-friendly community. 

  The “A” rated Dysart Unified School District has won numerous awards for its fiscal responsibility and transparency, and has been educating the Northwest Valley since 1920, serving over 23,000 pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students. Dysart is one of the best districts in the state, and we need to make sure it stays that way. 

 Proposition 421 is NOT a tax increase. With the growth of our community and the reduction of existing debt, the tax rate is projected to remain flat - meaning Proposition 421 WILL NOT increase the tax rate.
